Looking For Affordable Youth Ministry Training?

I'm pleased to announce the first of what is hoped-to-be an annual event. The Midwest Youth Worker Interchange is going to be September 10-11 at the Christian Conference Center in Newton, Iowa (just 30 minutes East of Des Moines).

Mark Riddle, author of Inside the Mind of Youth Pastors and The unOfficial Church Staff Manual: Youth Pastor Edition, will be our featured presenter.
There are 2 formats for the event. You can come to the whole thing for just $45. That ridiculously low price includes lodging (double-occupancy) as well as breakfast and lunch on Saturday. If you'd rather just come to the Saturday event, then the cost is just $20, which includes lunch.

So, the million dollar question: Why would you want to spend a weekend and come to this event? The answer is in the content. Most Youth Ministry Events are geared specifically for professional (paid) Youth Pastors and are sponsored by publishing companies who want to sell their stuff. This event, on the other hand, is much different. The MYWI is designed for all people who work with youth in their church: Sunday School teachers, cell group leaders, sponsors, volunteers, chapperones, parents, and yes, youth pastors. Mark will be helping us to explore how we can do youth ministry both missionally and congregationally. And instead of being sponsored by a publishing company, this event is sponsored by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the Upper Midwest, some people in my denomination who just want to see healthy youth ministry develop. And don't worry about it if you're not a Disciple or if you're from a different region. This event is open to everybody.
