I feel like a golf pro.

Aren't giant checks cool?! I think so.

This is something really neat that happened last week. A member of my congregation signed up for a contest on ABC that's part of the Extreme Makeover TV show. It was a special contest for people affected by the recession who still give back to their community. The prize winners each got $5000 plus their favorite Non-Profit got $5000 for a specific project. So here is a pic of Kay with her gigantic check and me with the church's gigantic check. Now I just have to find a way to get it through the teller window at the bank.

We're going to use the money towards our new sound and video system project this summer. And we also found out that ABC is kicking in an extra $1000 to help us get our new Kid's First ministry off the ground. Kid's First is going to be a monthly opportunity for parents to get diapers, wipes, and other baby needs at a drastically reduced cost. What cool thing for a TV station to help out with!

Our local affiliate in Sioux City, KCAU, is coming out to the mall on May 9th to do a collection drive for the baby pantry. Awesome!
