An unexpected find

Today I went to Barnes & Noble. I was browsing through current fiction and I came across a section by Doug Marlette. I picked up a copy of his most recent release, "Magic Time." As I was thumbing through I realized I was holding an autographed copy! Then I looked down and realized there were about 10 more autographed copies sitting there.

For those of you who don't know, Doug Marlette, he's won a Pulitzer and just about every award authors can possibly get. He's also a famous editorial cartoonist. You might have seen "Kudzu." Recently he came to Tulsa and joined the staff of the Tulsa World.

Unfortunately, yesterday he was killed in an automobile accident.

Truth be told, I haven't read much of his fiction, though "Kudzu" is one I really like. But if you're in the Tulsa area, it would be worth your while to visit the Barnes & Noble at 41st and Yale to pick up a copy of "Magic Time." If you're very lucky, an autographed copy might still be there. And a steal at $15.
